shuttlewagon: industrail standards

The Shuttlewagon has evolved greatly over the years. Steel guide wheels were added to help guide the Shuttlewagon along the rail. Chassis that were once based on Detroit-built pickup trucks are now custom designed. Improved engines, axles and transmissions allow the Shuttlewagon to build products with larger and larger pulling capacities. These and many other improvements led us to develop the industry-leading Shuttlewagon Commander. The Shuttlewagon Commander offers features such as: a full-width crossover cab, rotating central console for either side of cab on-rail operation, computerized display, anti-lock brake system, dynamic traction control and large capacity fuel tank. Five standard production models are available with drawbar pull ratings from 27,000 lbs. to 50,000 lbs.

The Shuttlewagon's straight-forward design, innovative adaptation of existing technology and use of name-brand components has proved to be a winning formula. In fact, mobile Railcar Mover users in Europe and other continents primarily use rubber tire drive-based systems acquired from regional equipment manufacturers.
